Athenaeum University in Bucharest was founded in 1990 as a private university education institution and is accredited by law.
In its whole activity, marked by the 17 years of the University's existence, the leadership's attention was focused on the content of education, on ensuring the dimension and the structure of knowledge according to the demand-offer educational equation, itself continuously changing on internal, European and international plan.
We must emphasize that the guarantee for the quality of the University's offer is represented by a professorate that we have always defined with satisfaction as one of the best, being formed of professors and well-known scientists and culture people, specialists in different branches of economics, management, juridical, humanist science, etc.
In its renewal according to the principles and requirements of the Bologna Process, the educational system in Romania is going through major changes, especially from the academic year 2005/2006, changes that regard the organization and content compatible with the European educational system.
With this object in view, are considered:
- the promotion of European cooperation in assuring the quality of education;
- the transparency and compatibility of studies graduated at Romanian universities, in comparison with the ones offered by the states members of the European Union;
- the introduction of a system based on the bachelor/master/doctoral degree cycles;
- generalizing the appliance of the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS);
- adopting measures in order to ease the mobility of the students and university teachers;
We consider such a type of education proper for the “product” market, respectively for qualifications and with the capacity of staying in the dynamic couple of feed-back of the two vectors: University – Practice, achieving the educational system's maximum synergy.
